Delhi Sleaze Baba Case Deepens: Sex Toy, Obscene CDs Recovered

New Delhi, 1st Oct: The scandal surrounding self-styled godman Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati has taken a murkier turn after Delhi Police recovered a sex toy and several CDs, suspected to contain obscene content, from his ashram in Vasant Kunj.

Chaitanyananda, 62, originally named Parthasarathy and hailing from Odisha, was taken to his ashram room on Tuesday. Officials revealed that the recovered items point to his “compulsive sexual behaviour”. At least five CDs suspected to contain obscene videos were seized, along with a sex toy.

Additionally, authorities found three fake photos showing Chaitanyananda with former US President Barack Obama, a UK politician, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi—likely used to impress followers. Fake visiting cards claiming he was a “permanent ambassador” to the UN Economic and Social Council and a “special envoy” to the BRICS grouping were also seized.

Earlier reports highlighted sleazy chats between the godman and his students. He reportedly addressed one student as “sweetie baby daughter doll” and repeatedly called her “baby”, including making sexual propositions. Disturbingly, one chat indicated his involvement in a sex trafficking scheme, suggesting a student provide a friend or junior as a sex partner for a “Dubai Sheikh”.

Chaitanyananda, accused of sexually assaulting at least 17 women, had been evading police since August. He was finally arrested from a hotel in Agra on Sunday, where he had checked in on September 27 to remain undetected.

He has been sent to five days’ police custody, and assets worth Rs 8 crore have been frozen as investigations continue.
