Chandigarh, 22nd Sept: Haryana’s senior BJP leader and Home Minister Anil Vij has removed the words “State Minister” from his profile on X (formerly Twitter), saying he wants his social-media following to be driven purely by interest in his posts and not by his official position.
“I want my followership to be completely organic. I want people to follow me for the content I post, not because I am a minister. This is why I have removed all other information from my Twitter bio,” Vij told reporters, after updating his profile on Sunday.

The long-serving Ambala MLA, known for his blunt statements and independent streak, clarified that the change has no political undertone and that he continues to serve as Haryana’s Home and Health Minister in the Manohar Lal Khattar cabinet.
Political observers note that Vij’s move comes amid growing debate on how public officials use social-media platforms to promote government work and cultivate personal branding.
