Professor Pradeep Kumar Prajapati Takes Charge as AIIA Director

New Delhi, 13th Sept: Professor Pradeep Kumar Prajapati today assumed charge as Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, following approval by the Union Cabinet. He will serve for five years or until superannuation, whichever is earlier.

Prof. Prajapati, former Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University, Jodhpur, and long-time faculty member of Gujarat Ayurved University, began his career at the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur. A BAMS graduate from Gurukul Kangri University, he earned his MD and PhD from Banaras Hindu University.

A formal ceremony at AIIA marked the occasion with a lamp-lighting and Dhanvantari Vandana. Former Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Manjusha Rajagopal, Dean Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Vyas, and staff welcomed him with floral bouquets.

In his first address, Prof. Prajapati said, “It is a matter of great pride and honour to serve Ayurveda at this esteemed institution. With the government’s vision of taking Ayurveda to the masses, I am confident that AIIA will achieve global recognition in the years to come.”

He later joined the valedictory session of a Continuing Medical Education programme for faculty, performing the ceremonial lamp lighting.
