WASHINGTON – The Federal Bureau of Investigation on Friday said that the suspect arrested in connection with the assassination of US conservative activist Charlie Kirk had told his family that he disliked Kirk because he “spread hate”.

FBI has not revealed the exact motive behind the killing of Kirk, a close aide of US President Donald Trump, the revelation indicates that the suspect might have been politically motivated.

Trump had held “radical lefts” responsible for his aide’s murder, in a video message after Kirk’s assassination.

“For years, those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers and criminals,” he said in the video message.

Trump said “This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now.”

The suspect accused of killing Charlie Kirk was arrested by the investigators earlier today.

has been identified as 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson, by law enforcement officials

A family member of Tyler Robinson told investigators that he had become more political recently and discussed Kirk’s visit to Utah Valley University.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox in a press conference said that the officials believe the accused acted alone in Kirk’s assassination.

Cox said that he had engraved writings on the bullet and the “high-powered, bolt-action rifle” that was recovered on Thursday from wooded area.

According to local media reports, inscriptions on the fired casing were -“Notices, bulges, OWO, what’s this?”

“Hey fascists! Catch!” read the writings on one of the unfired casing.

Another read, “Oh bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao” and the third said, “If you read this, you are gay LMAO.”
