WASHINGTON – White House Trade Advisor and key aide of President Donald Trump, Peter Navarro on Monday his public outburst was mocked by several X users and memes flooded his comment section, media reported
Navarro has gone on a rant, this time lashed out at India after he faced embarrassment over an online poll against X’s community noted that flagged his propaganda post on New Delhi’s purchase of Russian crude oil.
He has been making controversial posts on India lately, had run a poll on X to rally support against the Elon Musk-led platform’s community notes feature. The community notes is X’s crowdsourced fact-checking feature.
His anti-India post was flagged, he called the feature “crap” and accused Musk of allowing propaganda into people’s posts.
Musk defended the community notes, stated it is a system that corrects everyone without exceptions after weighing all sides of an argument.
“On X, the people decide the narrative,” Musk said without directly naming or address Navarro.
Navarro launched a public poll on X, posing the question: “Should this platform allow foreign interests masquerading as objective observers to interfere with domestic U.S. economics and politics?”
Instead of validation, the poll brought him embarrassment as a majority of respondents opposed his stance.
It led to a meltdown of sorts as Navarro let out his frustration on India’s large population.
“India has largest population in the world & all it can do is managefew hundred thousand X propagandists to jerk around a poll? Too funny,” he said.
He also attempted to incite the people of America. “Look at how foreign interests use our social media to advance their agenda.”
Navarro’s public outburst was mocked by several X users and memes flooded his comment section, with one suggesting the US Trade Adviser “need to see a doctor.”
Look “Mr Trump, Peter Navarro is having a meltdown more severe than you,” said another.
“Even wolf warrior diplomacy requires a degree of aptitude. Unsure how invoking fact free invective will lead to anything substantive except fact-checking by the public,” wrote the third.
Navarro had to turn off the comment section. “Wow, we liked the fear of Indians you had, because of which you turned off the comment section,” another user pointed out.
