New Delhi, 8th Sep: President Droupadi Murmu graced the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) India in New Delhi on Monday. Addressing the gathering, she urged stakeholders to take a pledge to transform India into a leading innovation economy.
The President recalled that in ancient times, India led the world in both spirituality and trade, and stressed that regaining this global leadership should be the collective resolution of all citizens. She commended EEPC’s contribution in raising engineering exports from USD 70 billion to over USD 115 billion in the last decade despite international trade challenges.
Highlighting EEPC’s role as a bridge between Indian producers and the global market, President Murmu emphasised the importance of expanding India’s share in the Global Value Chain amid shifting international economic orders. She urged the council to turn challenges in global trade into opportunities by harnessing India’s exceptional capabilities.

Noting that India’s engineering export destinations have evolved over the past seven decades, the President encouraged EEPC to continue this momentum with the spirit of “Nation First.” She underscored India’s strengths in delivering high-quality engineering products and services at competitive costs, backed by Global Capability Centres of major multinational companies.
The President called upon EEPC stakeholders to create a robust ecosystem of innovation and incentives, positioning India as a Global Innovation Centre. “Innovation economies are the most competitive and prosperous in the world. India must pledge to become one by leveraging its immense talent and energy,” she asserted.
