Thiruvarur, 3rd Sept: President Droupadi Murmu graced the 10th convocation ceremony of the Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) at Thiruvarur today.
Addressing the gathering, the President lauded the University for maintaining high academic standards and fostering intellectual curiosity. She praised CUTN for extending learning benefits to marginalised sections through its Community College and the Dr. Ambedkar Centre for Excellence.
Emphasising that education must link individual growth with social progress, she urged the academic community to collaborate with industry in harnessing science and technology for the larger good of humanity, nature, and ecology.
Highlighting the importance of lifelong learning, President Murmu drew inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi, who continued to acquire new skills and knowledge throughout his life. She advised students to keep curiosity alive, stressing that continuous learning ensures relevance in a fast-changing world shaped by Artificial Intelligence and Industry 4.0.
Underscoring the University’s mission of nurturing strong character and value-based work ethics, the President expressed confidence that CUTN graduates would uphold ethics and sensitivity beyond professional life, contributing meaningfully to society.
