Noida, 30th Aug: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday inaugurated a state-of-the-art test facility of Raphe mPhibr, an iDEX winner start-up, in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Addressing the gathering, he said Operation Sindoor is not just a story of the Armed Forces’ valour, but also of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and youth innovation.

Rajnath Singh expressed pride that the Armed Forces swiftly adopted indigenous equipment developed by young innovators and industries. He revealed that three products jointly developed by Raphe mPhibr and DRDO in just 14 months were successfully deployed during Operation Sindoor, proving India’s advancing technological capability.

Highlighting the swiftness of the operation, the Defence Minister noted that the Armed Forces gave a befitting response within 22 minutes, showing how courage, science and resolve can make the impossible possible.

Singh underlined that India is rapidly advancing in indigenous drone technology, which is reshaping modern warfare. Citing global conflicts, he emphasized that drones are becoming critical in areas where conventional equipment cannot reach.

He praised the iDEX scheme as a transformative initiative for promoting innovation and self-reliance in defence. He also referred to the Technology Development Fund, ADITI scheme, and the National Research Foundation, stressing that today’s startups will drive India’s defence leadership in the next two decades.

The Defence Minister further noted that Noida is fast emerging as a hub for defence innovation, spanning startups, manufacturing and high-tech solutions.

During the visit, Rajnath Singh reviewed advanced infrastructure, including an engine test bed, metal additive manufacturing facility, high-temperature furnaces, composite polymer centres, and drone systems ranging from swarm drones to payload-drop and precision-guided missile drones.

The event was attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, and Defence Production Secretary Sanjeev Kumar.
