A fresh C Voter survey has projected that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would secure around 324 seats if Lok Sabha elections were held today, ensuring the coalition’s return to power. However, the BJP, despite holding a strong 47% vote share, is predicted to fall short of the majority mark, winning around 260 seats, underlining the rising indispensability of its allies.

According to the survey, the Congress-led INDIA bloc would secure nearly 208 seats, with the Congress itself projected to win 97 constituencies at 41% vote share.
The forecast comes against the backdrop of the 2024 general elections, where the BJP missed its 370-seat target, winning 240 seats. The party relied on allies like N Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP (16 seats) and Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) (12 seats) to form the government, taking the NDA tally to 293. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in for a third consecutive term, equalling Jawaharlal Nehru’s record.
The INDIA bloc, which had then bagged 234 seats, saw notable performances from Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party (37 seats), MK Stalin’s DMK (22 seats), and Mamata Banerjee’s TMC (29 seats), while Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD secured 4 seats.
The survey shows the shifting balance of coalition politics, suggesting that while the BJP retains national dominance, its regional allies remain critical to sustaining power.
