 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended his greetings to the nation on the occasion of National Sports Day, commemorating hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. He underlined the government’s commitment to nurturing a vibrant sports culture, modern infrastructure, and institutional support for athletes across India.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote: “Greetings on National Sports Day! On this special occasion, we pay tribute to Major Dhyan Chand Ji, whose excellence continues to inspire generations.
