New Delhi, 28th Aug: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday dismissed speculation of a rift between the Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stressing that while differences of opinion may exist, there is no discord between the two organizations.

Speaking at a press conference in Delhi during events marking the RSS centenary year, Bhagwat underlined that both organizations must respect each other’s areas of expertise.

He noted, “I have been running a shakha for 50 years, so I am an expert in that. They (BJP) have been running the government for years, so they are experts in governance. We must respect one another’s expertise.”

The RSS chief clarified that the Sangh is not a political organization and can only offer suggestions, while final decisions rest with the BJP.

He also humorously remarked that if the RSS truly controlled BJP decisions, “the appointment of the party president would not have taken so long.”

Bhagwat reiterated that the RSS maintains good coordination with both central and state governments, countering opposition allegations that the Sangh dictates government policy from behind the scenes.

His remarks come amid speculation about differences between the RSS and BJP on certain policies, particularly economic measures and internal party affairs.

The statement is being seen as an attempt to calm speculation and reassure RSS workers that the organization’s core mission remains societal and ideological guidance, while governance lies squarely in the BJP’s domain.
