New Delhi, 27th Aug: On the sacred occasion of Samvatsari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm greetings to citizens, underlining the values of forgiveness, compassion and humility that the day represents.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister wrote: “Samvatsari is a reminder of the beauty of forgiving and the power of compassion. It inspires people to nurture bonds with sincerity. As we mark this sacred occasion, may our hearts be filled with humility and our actions reflect kindness as well as goodwill. Michhami Dukkadam!”

Samvatsari, observed by the Jain community, marks the culmination of the holy Paryushan Parva. The day is devoted to introspection, seeking forgiveness, and spreading goodwill, with the traditional greeting “Michhami Dukkadam” symbolising reconciliation.
