Chennai, 27th Aug: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday flew to Bihar to participate in Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s “Voter Adhikar Yatra.” Mr. Stalin, accompanied by Thoothukudi MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, joined the march and addressed a public rally in Darbhanga.
The yatra, launched by Rahul Gandhi on August 17, aims to highlight alleged irregularities in the voter list revision in Bihar. The Congress has accused the Election Commission of India of deliberately deleting names of voters with an “anti-BJP inclination.” The 16-day yatra will cover 1,300 km before culminating in Patna on September 1.
Stalin’s participation is a strong show of solidarity from the DMK, which has been a vocal critic of the voter revision exercise. The party had previously adopted a resolution condemning the process, calling it an attempt to benefit the BJP.
The Congress has invited leaders from various opposition-ruled states and the INDIA bloc to join the campaign at different stages. This public display of support from key allies reinforces the broader opposition unity ahead of the upcoming political contests.
