Ghazipur, 23rd Aug: Umar Ansari, the younger son of late gangster and political figure Mukhtar Ansari, has been transferred from Ghazipur Jail to Kasganj District Jail on a government order. According to police, Umar was sent to Kasganj on Friday night. Kotwali Station House Officer Deendayal Pandey confirmed that Umar Ansari has been shifted to Kasganj District Jail.
According to the police, Umar Ansari was arrested on August 3 for allegedly submitting forged documents in court. The case is related to a petition filed to reclaim his father’s seized properties. Ghazipur police arrested Umar from the capital, Lucknow.
Umar is accused of filing a petition in court and presenting forged documents to support his claim for the release of his family’s properties, which were seized under the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Gangster Act.
According to a police statement, the documents bear the forged signatures of his mother, Afshan Ansari. Afshan is currently absconding and has a reward of Rs 50,000 declared on her head. The statement said, “Upon the discovery of the fraudulent activity, a case was registered against Umar Ansari at the Mohammadabad police station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).”
