New Delhi, 21st Aug: A day after being attacked during a public hearing at her camp office, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday announced that her ‘Jan Sunwai’ programme will now be held across every assembly constituency, instead of being confined to her residence.

Asserting her resolve to continue engaging with citizens, Gupta declared, “Every moment of my life and every particle of my body is dedicated to Delhi. Despite these unexpected blows, I will never abandon Delhi.”

She emphasized that the initiative would bring her directly to the people: “Now, public hearings will not only be held at my home but also in every assembly of Delhi. Your Chief Minister, at your doorstep.”

In a post on X, written in Hindi, Gupta also drew strength from her late father’s teachings, recalling how he once encouraged her not to give up after a car accident during her college years. “Accidents happen in life, but you can’t stop walking on the path,” he had told her.

Linking that lesson to her present circumstances, Gupta said women are often tested twice as hard and must fight through challenges with greater strength. “I am ready too! I can never stop fighting for the interests of Delhiites,” she stressed.

Her announcement comes a day after the assault at her Jan Sunwai session, which drew sharp political reactions and renewed calls for security and accountability.
