Patna, 14th Aug: A political row has erupted in Bihar after Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav alleged that an NDA MP and her husband, a JDU MLC, possess two Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPIC IDs) each. In a post on X, Mr. Yadav claimed that Veena Devi, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP from Vaishali, and her husband, Dinesh Singh, have two votes in different Lok Sabha constituencies, with varying ages listed on their respective EPIC cards.

The RJD leader shared details of what he claims are the two EPIC IDs for Veena Devi (UT01134543 and GSB1037894) and Dinesh Singh (REM0933267 and UT01134527). “How did she get two votes with two EPIC cards in two separate constituencies and separate ages?” he questioned, adding, “Isn’t this a fraud by the Election Commission to ensure a BJP-NDA victory?”

In a similar post, Mr. Yadav flagged two voter IDs for Dinesh Singh, questioning whether his proximity to the Chief Minister granted him the extra vote.

Hitting back, Dinesh Singh insisted that he only votes from one place and has already requested the removal of his name from one constituency. He accused Tejashwi Yadav of misleading people with “wrong facts.” Following the allegations, the poll body has issued a notice to Mr. Singh and Muzaffarpur Mayor and BJP leader Nirmala Devi, who also faced similar allegations from the RJD leader, seeking an explanation on why their names were listed in two constituencies.
