Desh Bhagat University and Needonomics Foundation Join Hands to Globalize Centre for South Asian Studies
Mandi Gobindgarh, 8th August: In a significant move to integrate Indian ethical thought into contemporary academic discourse, Centre for South Asian Studies Desh Bhagat University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Prof. M.M. Goel Needonomics Foundation. The collaboration aims to advance value-based research, ethical governance, and sustainable development through the lens of “Needonomics”—a paradigm propounded by Prof. M.M. Goel as an antidote to mindless Greedonomics.
Prof. Amarjeet Singh, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, signed the MoU as a strategic step to enrich and globalize the Centre for South Asian Studies. He highlighted the potential of this partnership to reinforce interdisciplinary efforts and broaden the scope of the Centre.

Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh termed the MoU a crucial milestone in the journey to reimagine socio-economic structures and position the Centre for South Asian Studies on the global academic map.
Prof. M.M. Goel expressed confidence that the collaboration with Needonomics would transform the Centre for South Asian Studies into the unique selling proposition (USP) of DBU, fostering a conscious and ethical economic outlook essential in today’s world.
By embedding Needonomics into research, academic events, and curriculum development. the joint initiatives will include scholarly dialogue, collaborative research, and educational content that emphasizes ethical and need-based living.
Dr. Renu Sharma, coordinator of the initiative, described the partnership as a unique confluence of ethical economics, academic depth, and real-world solutions for contemporary challenges.
