New Delhi, 31st July: The Change of Guard Ceremony at the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan will not be held on August 2, August 9, and August 16, 2025. The suspension is due to the ceremonial battalion’s engagement in crucial rehearsals for an upcoming guard of honour for a visiting Head of State, as well as preparations for the Independence Day ceremony.

The announcement was made by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) today. The Change of Guard is a military tradition where a new contingent of the President’s Bodyguard and an Army Guard Battalion takes over duties from the old guard, a ceremony that usually draws a significant number of visitors.
