New Delhi, 27th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, July 27, 2025, paid heartfelt homage to former President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, on his death anniversary. The Prime Minister took to X (formerly Twitter) at 9:43 AM to remember the revered figure.

In his post, PM Modi stated that Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is remembered as “an inspiring visionary, outstanding scientist, mentor and a great patriot.” The Prime Minister further added, “His dedication to our nation was exemplary. His thoughts motivate the youth of India to contribute towards building a developed and strong India.”

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who served as India’s 11th President from 2002 to 2007, was widely known as the “Missile Man of India” for his pivotal role in the development of the nation’s ballistic missile and space launch vehicle technology, including the Agni and Prithvi missiles. He also played a crucial part in the Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998. Affectionately called the “People’s President,” Dr. Kalam connected deeply with citizens, especially students, throughout his life and even after his presidency. He passed away on July 27, 2015, while delivering a lecture at IIM Shillong, dedicating his final moments to inspiring young minds.

His death anniversary is observed annually as a tribute to his enduring legacy of scientific excellence, dedication to education, and unwavering patriotism.
