New Delhi, 21st July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi  addressed the media before the start of the Monsoon Session of 2025, highlighting the session as a “proud moment for the nation” and a “true celebration of our collective achievements.”

The Prime Minister welcomed everyone to the session, noting that the monsoon symbolizes innovation and renewal, with favorable weather conditions benefiting agriculture. He emphasized that current water reservoir levels have tripled compared to the past decade, which will significantly bolster India’s economy.

PM Modi stated that the current Monsoon Session is a “celebration of victory for India,” citing the historic unfurling of the Indian tricolor flag at the International Space Station as a source of immense national pride and a catalyst for enthusiasm in science, technology, and innovation.

He asserted that the world has witnessed the strength of India’s armed forces, particularly referring to Operation Sindoor. The Prime Minister revealed that the Indian Army achieved its objectives with “100 percent success,” neutralizing high-value targets at their bases in just 22 minutes. He also mentioned growing global interest in India’s “Made in India” defence capabilities, noting admiration from world leaders during recent international interactions. This collective celebration in Parliament, he believes, will further energize India’s military strength and inspire youth employment in the defence sector.

The Prime Minister observed that the nation has long grappled with violent challenges like terrorism and Naxalism, but today, the influence of Naxalism and Maoism is “shrinking rapidly.” He proudly stated that “the Constitution prevails over bombs and guns,” and the former ‘Red Corridors’ are now transforming into ‘Green Growth Zones’ of development.

PM Modi underlined that India, once part of the “Fragile Five” economies in 2014 and ranking 10th globally, is now rapidly advancing towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy. He highlighted that 25 crore people have emerged from poverty, a transformation recognized globally, and noted current inflation rates around 2 percent, contrasting with double-digit inflation prior to 2014.

He also showcased India’s digital prowess, stating that “Digital India is making waves globally,” with UPI gaining popularity across many countries and becoming a recognized name in FinTech. He emphasized India’s global leadership in real-time digital transactions.

Recalling the “brutal massacre in Pahalgam” that “shocked the entire world and drew global attention to terrorism and its epicentre,” the Prime Minister lauded representatives from across India who “united to expose Pakistan’s role,” rising above party lines. He expressed deep appreciation for their unified diplomatic campaign that effectively exposed Pakistan as a sponsor of terrorism on the global stage.

PM Modi emphasized the power of national unity and expressed confidence that the Monsoon Session, through its collective spirit, will reflect a celebration of victory, honor India’s military strength, and motivate 140 crore citizens towards self-reliance in defense. He urged all Members of Parliament to advance this spirit of unity for national interest, even amidst diverse party agendas, concluding that the session will include several bills aimed at boosting national development and empowering citizens.
