New Delhi, 18th July: State-owned telecom provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is now poised to intensely compete with private players like Jio, Airtel, and Vi on all fronts. BSNL has significantly strengthened its network by installing 100,000 new 4G/5G towers nationwide and has introduced a new, budget-friendly plan offering 180 days of validity, which could significantly disrupt the market.
Strengthened Network, 5G Launch Preparation
The telecom company’s chairman recently announced plans for an additional 100,000 new towers, further enhancing BSNL’s network footprint. The company is also on the verge of launching its full 5G service, which has already commenced with 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) service in Hyderabad. This service is slated for rapid expansion to other cities in South India soon.
Competitive ₹897 Plan with 180-Day Validity
BSNL’s new prepaid plan is priced at ₹897 and offers an extended validity of 180 days. This comprehensive plan includes unlimited calling to any network, 100 free SMS per day, and free national roaming. For data, subscribers receive a total of 90GB of high-speed data with no daily usage limits, allowing users the flexibility to consume it at their convenience throughout the entire validity period.
Significantly More Affordable Than Competitors
When compared to private telecom providers, BSNL’s new offering presents a compelling value proposition. In the ₹900 price range, competitors like Jio, Airtel, and Vi typically offer plans with only 84 days of validity. Furthermore, Vi’s plan with 180 days of validity is reported to be more than double the cost of BSNL’s new plan. This makes BSNL’s ₹897 plan an excellent and economical choice for users seeking longer validity.
