Bhopal, 18th July: In a key move to foster international collaboration in film production, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, on the first day of his Spain visit, held a crucial meeting in Madrid with Mr. Juan-Manuel Guimerens, President of the Spain Film Commission, and other representatives. The discussion focused extensively on the immense possibilities for cooperation in film production between India and Spain.

During the meeting, an MOU was signed to promote film co-production, following important discussions on opportunities that would creatively and commercially benefit both nations. This agreement encourages Spanish filmmakers to identify shooting locations within Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav extended an invitation to Spanish production companies to film in Madhya Pradesh, highlighting the state’s diverse landscapes, government support, and conducive environment for filmmaking. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also honored Mr. Juan-Manuel Guimerens.

The Spain Film Commission shared information on various incentives, subsidies, and facilities available for foreign film productions in Spain, aiming to shape effective future collaborations. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav presented Madhya Pradesh’s diverse and scenic locations, along with the state’s film-friendly policy, which provides an ideal environment for international productions. He also invited Spanish producers for location scouting visits in Madhya Pradesh.

Discussions during the meeting also covered potential synergies and simplification of processes between the film policies of both countries. The possibility of joint film festivals, workshops, and cultural events between India and Spain was also deliberated, aiming to strengthen cultural exchange.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized the need for cooperation in bilateral skill development and technical training in areas such as post-production, VFX, and scriptwriting. Opportunities for launching short-term courses and exchange programs with leading Spanish film institutions were also discussed.

The possibility of organizing a “Madhya Pradesh Film Showcase” in Spain was considered, with the aim of presenting the state’s creative potential and locations on a global platform. This meeting marks the beginning of a new chapter in the film industry between the two countries, expected to bring many exciting joint projects to fruition in the future.
