New Delhi, 14th July: President Droupadi Murmu has accepted the resignation of Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) from the post of Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh, and announced a series of fresh gubernatorial appointments across key regions.
According to an official communiqué from Rashtrapati Bhavan, the following appointments have been approved and will take effect upon the assumption of office by the respective individuals:
- Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh has been appointed as the new Governor of Haryana.
- Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju has been named Governor of Goa.
- Shri Kavinder Gupta, a senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has been appointed the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, succeeding Brig. Mishra.
The changes come at a time of strategic importance for the regions involved, with renewed focus on governance and public engagement. All newly appointed dignitaries are expected to take charge in the coming days.
