New Delhi, 25th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired the 48th meeting of PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation), an ICT-based multi-modal platform aimed at fostering cooperative federalism and expediting critical infrastructure projects through coordination between the Centre and States.

Held at South Block, the meeting focused on key infrastructure projects across the Mines, Railways, and Water Resources sectors. The Prime Minister emphasized that project delays not only inflate costs but also deny citizens timely access to essential services. He called for a result-oriented approach to bridge implementation gaps and enhance quality of life.

A major highlight of the review was the Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM). PM Modi urged all states to fast-track the development of health infrastructure, particularly in Aspirational Districts, remote, tribal, and border areas. “Equitable access to healthcare is not just a priority—it’s a necessity. We must bridge the gap for underserved communities with urgency,” he said.

He termed PM-ABHIM a “golden opportunity” for states to strengthen healthcare delivery across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels and stressed the importance of sustainable infrastructure in ensuring long-term impact.

In a significant push for defence self-reliance, the Prime Minister also reviewed best practices adopted under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative in the defence sector. Applauding the success of Operation Sindoor—a mission executed using entirely indigenous capabilities—PM Modi highlighted the strategic and innovation potential of localised defence solutions.

He encouraged States and Union Territories to integrate and expand these best practices to bolster India’s defence ecosystem and contribute to national self-reliance.
