New Delhi, 22nd June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday lauded the people of Andhra Pradesh for their enthusiastic embrace of yoga through the state-led ‘Yogandhra’ campaign, calling it a driving force in India’s nationwide health and wellness movement.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister praised Andhra Pradesh’s mass participation in the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations held in Visakhapatnam, where a record-breaking 3.01 lakh people joined a yoga session, earning a Guinness World Record.
“Yoga brings people together, once again! Compliments to the people of Andhra Pradesh for the manner in which they have strengthened the movement to make Yoga a part of their lives,” he wrote.
He further said the Yogandhra initiative and the programme in Visakhapatnam, in which he himself participated, would continue to inspire millions to adopt yoga for better health and well-being.
The month-long Yogandhra campaign reportedly witnessed over 2 crore participants across Andhra Pradesh, culminating in the mega beachside event in Visakhapatnam, where PM Modi performed yoga alongside Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and other dignitaries.
