“Like Making a Cat Guard the Milk”: Rajnath Singh Slams UN, Calls Out Pak on Terror

Dehradun, 10th June: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today delivered a fiery speech in Dehradun, sharply criticizing the United Nations and Pakistan. He said that many of the UN’s recent decisions have been called into question, especially its choice to appoint Pakistan as the Vice-Chair of the Counter-Terrorism Panel – a body created after the 9/11 attacks in the US.

“It’s no secret that Pakistan sheltered the mastermind of that attack,” Singh stated bluntly. He added, “This is like asking a cat to guard the milk,” highlighting his deep skepticism about the UN’s approach to global terrorism.

Singh emphasized that since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took office, the government has fundamentally “changed the attitude and method of action” on national security issues. He pointed to “Operation Sindoor” as the most recent and prime example of this shift, calling it the “biggest action against terrorism in Indian history.”

Calling Pakistan the “Father of Terrorism,” Singh accused the nation of consistently providing shelter, training, and various forms of support to terrorists on its own soil. To effectively dismantle terror infrastructure, he stressed the importance of “exposing the countries that fund and shelter terrorism in the world today.” He asserted that a significant portion of Pakistan’s financial aid is diverted to terrorism, a reality the world is finally starting to acknowledge.

Singh underscored the critical need for the United Nations, which bears “a big responsibility in the fight against terrorism,” to remain united and consistent. “Unfortunately, in recent years, many decisions of the UN have been questioned,” he reiterated, signaling India’s growing frustration with the international body’s effectiveness in combating global terror.
