New Delhi, 10th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today hailed the transformative progress made in India’s defence sector over the past 11 years, emphasizing the dual focus on modernisation and self-reliance in defence production.
In a post on X, responding to a message shared by MyGovIndia, Prime Minister Modi expressed pride in the collective national resolve and the strides taken towards building a robust and technologically advanced defence ecosystem.
“The last 11 years have marked significant changes in our defence sector, with a clear focus on both modernisation and becoming self reliant when it comes to defence production. It is gladdening to see how the people of India have come together with the resolve of making India stronger! #11YearsOfRakshaShakti,” the Prime Minister posted.
This remark comes amid India’s growing emphasis on indigenous defence manufacturing under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, with increased production of fighter aircraft, warships, drones, and advanced weapons systems.
The past decade has witnessed major policy reforms, increased defence exports, and private sector participation, positioning India as a rising force in global defence innovation.
Through initiatives like Make in India, Defence Corridors, and a streamlined procurement process, the government has focused on reducing dependence on imports while bolstering national security.
