New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts concluded its 2025 season on May 11 with final performances in Philadelphia, Nashville, Providence, and Paris, bringing the curtain down on a remarkable global journey that reached over one million viewers across more than 800 shows in 190 cities worldwide.

The classical Chinese dance company, known for reviving 5,000 years of divinely inspired culture, captivated audiences throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Principal dancer David Xiao noted the season’s profound emotional impact on audiences, many of whom left “with tears in their eyes.”

Shen Yun’s France Tour Draws 210,000 Attendees

In France, Shen Yun delivered 88 performances in 12 cities, drawing nearly 210,000 spectators—a record-breaking run that played to full houses. With overwhelming demand, 15,000 tickets have already been sold for the 2026 season across 15 French cities, with more dates expected to be added.

French audience member Mr. Chambrillon praised the show’s “absolute precision” and spiritual quality, describing it as a bridge to divine ideals. “It opens minds and offers a unique artistic window into China,” he said.

Mr. Qin, a Chinese student based in Paris, called Shen Yun a “universal” performance. “What we see in every dancer is not just a performance, it’s authenticity,” he said. “Shen Yun is spreading light… It dispels the darkness surrounding us.”

From Brazil to the U.S., Praise Across Continents

Flutist Huang Zirong recalled the troupe’s emotional return to Porto Alegre, Brazil, a year after devastating floods had cancelled earlier shows. Principal dancer Bella Fan emphasized the importance of “perseverance and purpose” in maintaining Shen Yun’s high performance standards.

In Guadalajara, Mexican music director Aseneth Torres Tapia praised Shen Yun for “planting a seed of hope” and restoring faith in the divine. In São Paulo, Brazil, Victor Lúcio de Oliveira, editor-in-chief of Brasil Paralelo, described the show as “a unique experience” that exceeded artistic expectations.

In the U.S., Delaware State Representative Lyndon D. Yearick presented Shen Yun with a proclamation during its Philadelphia show. He called the performance “powerful and refreshing,” and commended it for shedding light on the Chinese regime’s persecution of Falun Gong, which Shen Yun’s creators—adherents of the spiritual practice—seek to expose through art.

“This is a reflection of peace and harmony,” said Yearick. “We should never take our freedoms for granted.”

Award-winning journalist Michael Cogdill, after attending the show in Spartanburg, South Carolina, called Shen Yun “the art of happy.” Despite showcasing repression, he said, the performance uplifted humanity: “It’s just happiness throughout.”

With spiritual resonance, cultural depth, and world-class artistry, Shen Yun 2025 lived up to its mission: spreading light across a darkening world. Audiences now eagerly await its 2026 season, already shaping up to be even more expansive and impactful.
