K. Sanjay Murthy Sworn in as Comptroller and Auditor General of India

K Sanjay Murthy was sworn in as the 15th Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath, marking a pivotal moment for the nation’s governance and financial accountability.

During the oath-taking, Murthy pledged his allegiance to the Constitution of India and affirmed his commitment to upholding the country’s sovereignty and integrity. In his solemn vow, he said, “I swear by God to the Constitution of India and will maintain its sovereignty and integrity with reverence, knowledge, and wisdom.”

Murthy, who succeeds Girish Chandra Murmu, brings a wealth of expertise and distinguished service to the role. As CAG, he will be responsible for auditing government accounts and ensuring transparency and accountability in public finances, playing a critical role in India’s financial discipline and governance.

The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, dignitaries, and members of the judiciary, highlighting the significance of the CAG office in ensuring public sector efficiency and fiscal responsibility.
