New Delhi, 11th Nov. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday honored Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on his birth anniversary, paying tribute to his contributions to India’s freedom movement and his legacy as a scholar and visionary.
In a message shared on social media platform X, PM Modi highlighted Azad’s role as a “beacon of knowledge” and a “prolific writer,” expressing inspiration from Azad’s vision for a developed and empowered India.
“On his birth anniversary today, we pay homage to Maulana Azad. He is fondly remembered as a beacon of knowledge and for his role in India’s freedom movement,” Modi wrote, adding that Azad’s ideas continue to inspire efforts toward India’s progress.
Azad, one of India’s most respected leaders, was instrumental in both the independence struggle and the foundation of India’s educational system, including the establishment of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). His enduring contributions continue to shape India’s educational landscape and inspire generations.
