Washington, D.C., 4th Nov. As the November 5 voting date approaches, all eyes are on the 2024 U.S. elections. Former President Donald Trump is showing a strong lead in predictions, particularly in all seven swing states, according to the latest poll by AtlasIntel.
The poll indicates that approximately 49% of respondents plan to vote for Trump in the upcoming presidential election, giving Republicans a 1.8% advantage over his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris. Conducted on the first two days of November, the survey gathered insights from nearly 2,500 likely voters, predominantly women.
Swing states—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—are critical battlegrounds that typically determine the outcome of the presidential race. The survey suggests Trump is favored to win in all these pivotal states.
In Arizona, Trump holds a significant lead, polling at 51.9% compared to Harris’s 45.1%. Similarly, in Nevada, 51.4% of respondents chose Trump, while Harris received 45.9%. In North Carolina, Trump also leads with 50.4% of the votes against Harris’s 46.8%.
U.S. presidential elections are influenced by three types of states: Red States, which are Republican strongholds; Blue States, which favor Democrats; and Swing States, where competition is fierce. The outcomes in swing states are often determined by narrow margins. For example, in the 2020 election, Joe Biden won Arizona by only 10,000 votes.
In contrast, a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll published on October 29 indicates a closer race, with Harris holding a slim lead over Trump at 44% to 43%. Despite Harris having led Trump in previous polls since her entry into the race in July, her advantage has been diminishing since late September, highlighting the volatility of this election cycle.
