US Congressional Delegation Meets PM Modi, Commends India’s Democratic Processes

New Delhi, 21st June. A seven-member US Congressional delegation, led by Michael McCaul, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today to discuss bilateral relations and mutual interests.

The delegation, which included prominent members like Nancy Pelosi and Ami Bera, congratulated Prime Minister Modi on his historic third consecutive term and lauded India’s recently concluded democratic elections for their scale, fairness, and transparency.

Emphasizing the significance of India-US relations, the delegation expressed strong support for deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Global Partnership across various domains including trade, technology, defense, and people-to-people exchanges.

Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the crucial bipartisan support from the US Congress in strengthening bilateral ties grounded in shared democratic values and mutual respect for the rule of law. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the United States for global welfare.

Reflecting on his State Visit to the US last year, Prime Minister Modi recalled his historic address to a Joint Session of the US Congress, underscoring the enduring ties between the two nations.

The meeting highlighted ongoing efforts to bolster India-US relations, marking a pivotal moment in diplomatic engagements between the two democracies.
