Raj Bhawan Employees were summoned as Bengal Governor neglect to show up on molestation charges

GG News Bureau

Kolkata, 5th May. In regard to the molestation charges against West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose, three employees of Raj Bhawan were summoned by the Kolkata Police’s Special Enquiry Team (SET) on Saturday, May 4.
However, according to sources cited by news agency ANI, none of the staff members arrived for questioning.
The SET authorities have been instructed by West Bengal Police to look into the molestation claims made against Governor CV Ananda Bose by a female staffer at Raj Bhawan.
Raj Bhawan has also been asked by the team to provide the CCTV footage.

In spite of this, neither the requested CCTV footage nor any of the employees showed up for questioning by the police. The sources stated that they will receive another summons from the police, requesting their presence on May 6.

“To help with the inquiry, Hare Street PS asked three Raj Bhawan employees to visit the PS this afternoon (4th was from KP – who attended).” Additional CCTV footage was requested. There was no response from Raj Bhawan when contacted. We have not yet gotten the CCTV footage. We won’t be making any further requests until Monday, May 6, according to police sources.

Following the allegations, Bose had earlier issued an order prohibiting the police and Chandrima Bhattacharya, the Minister of State for Finance, from entering the Raj Bhavan. The order stated that West Bengal Minister Bhattacharya is not permitted to enter the Raj Bhavan buildings in Kolkata, Darjeeling, or Barrackpore due to “defamatory and anti-constitutional media statements.”

“For defamation and anti-constitutional media statements against Governor, a junior gubernatorial appointee Chandrima Bhattacharya, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Department of Finance has been banned entry into the Raj Bhavan premises of Kolkata, Darjeeling and Barrackpore,” the decree stated.

Bose is the target of sexual allegations
On Thursday, May 2, a female staffer at Raj Bhavan made an allegation that the West Bengal Governor had harassed her sexually.

Prior to PM Modi’s visit to the state, West Bengal Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya revealed that a woman had filed a complaint against the Governor, alleging that he had molested her.

“Narendra Modi, the prime minister, is traveling to Bengal. The Raj Bhavan has been booked for his stay. A lady had gone to the police station earlier to lodge a complaint against the governor, alleging that he had molested her,” Bhattacharya stated.

“What kind of incident is this, when the Governor says that he will create a ‘peace room’ and listen to everyone’s problems, but here the same Governor is insulting women,” she continued.

Following reports from TMC leaders that a lady working at Raj Bhavan had accused Bose of molestation, the West Bengal governor responded to the accusations with a statement declaring that he will not be subjugated by “engineered narratives” and that “truth shall triumph”.

“Truth will win out. Storylines that are contrived to intimidate me will not win. God bless everyone who wants to criticize me in order to get an advantage in the election. However, they are unable to stop me from fighting Bengal’s violence and corruption,” the governor declared.
