With the impending Lok Sabha elections, each political party has begun preparing at their own level. Among the contestants for the nation’s largest Panchayat Parliament, West Bengal stands out. Mamata Banerjee, the leader of the ruling Trinamool Congress, has declared that she will run for office alone in the state, rather than distancing herself from the India Alliance of opposition parties. The state has forty-two Lok Sabha seats, many of them are well-known. Medinipur is one such Lok Sabha seat. 90% Dilip Ghosh, a Former President of the Bengal BJP, presently serves as the MP for the Medinipur Lok Sabha seat. It is likely that the party will be able to field him as a candidate in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. The Trinamool Congress has the power to alter the candidate. Additionally, CPI(M) and Congress may independently field common candidates. Dilip Ghosh of the Trinamool Congress defeated Manas Ranjan Bhuyan by 88,952 votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Bhuiyan received five lakh 96 thousand 481 votes, while Ghosh received six lakh 85 thousand 433.
