Mumbai, 26th Feb.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde issued a stern warning to Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange on Sunday, cautioning him against testing the patience of the state government following the activist’s allegations against Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Addressing reporters in Antarwali Sarati, Shinde responded to Jarange’s allegations, stating that those protesting against the government should not create law and order problems. He expressed concern over Jarange’s rhetoric resembling the script often used by political figures like Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray.

Jarange, in a speech earlier in the day, accused Fadnavis of attempting to harm him and claimed there was a poisoning attempt through saline, although he provided no further details.

Shinde emphasized that any aggressive behavior or use of expletives would be dealt with according to the law, describing Jarange’s actions as part of an ongoing conspiracy that would soon be exposed.

Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis also addressed the situation, stating that the state government is aware of the individuals behind Jarange, with details to be revealed in due course. Regarding Jarange’s announced protest march to Mumbai, targeting Fadnavis’ official residence, the deputy CM clarified that it is open to anyone with legitimate reasons to visit.

The developments come ahead of the session of the Maharashtra legislature, indicating heightened tensions surrounding the Maratha quota issue and escalating exchanges between activists and government officials.
