New Delhi, 26th Feb. The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare conducted the 10th Nation-wide Pension Adalat chaired by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in New Delhi on 22.2.2024.
The event witnessed the participation of 12 Ministries/Departments, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Defence Finance, CBDT, and others, where 85 cases were resolved promptly.
Some notable cases addressed during the Pension Adalat included:
• Shri Manik Dongre, Ex-AC BSF, who received his Sanctioned Retirement Gratuity of Rs. 10.37 Lakh after registering a grievance on the CPENGRAMS portal.
• Dr. Arvind Kumar, who received Rs. 26.75 lakh for Leave Encashment after retiring as an Associated Professor and suffering from cancer.
• Shri C.K. Pangeni, who successfully had the name of his second wife included in his PPO after 8 years of requesting.
• Shri Chandan Kumar Shah, son of Late Ram Sevak Shah, who was sanctioned family pension with arrears amounting to Rs. 3.93 lakh after 8 years.
• Shri Joginder Singh, retired from defense in 2019, received his disability pension arrears totaling Rs. 3.53 lakh after two years of non-payment.
These successful resolutions highlight the effectiveness of the Pension Adalat in promptly addressing grievances and ensuring the welfare of pensioners.
