MP Kirti Vardhan Singh and Padma Shri Shital Mahajan Make History with Skydiving Feat at Shri Ram Temple, Ayodhya

Member of Parliament Kirti Vardhan Singh orchestrated a breathtaking skydiving spectacle for Shital Mahajan, championing a new era of adventure in the sacred city of Ayodhya.

Against the backdrop of the sandy banks of the Sarayu River in Ayodhya, a successful skydiving flag jump was executed with precision using a power hang glider.

Shital Mahajan, a professional skydiver and recipient of the Padma Shri Award in 2011, spearheaded this exhilarating feat. With a career spanning two decades, she has brought honor to India in the field of skydiving, clinching 26 national, 4 Asian, and 8 world records by February 22, 2024.

The event, primarily conducted by two Indian aero sports specialists, received vital support from the local administration and aviation enthusiasts. Member of Parliament Kirti Vardhan Singh, a seasoned flying expert proficient in paragliding, para-trike, and power hang gliding, led the initiative, inspiring Indian youth towards aerial sports and promoting Ayodhya’s historical and religious significance.

The skydiving demonstration, coordinated by Padma Shri awardee Shital Mahajan, aimed to welcome devotees to the sacred land of Ayodhya and foster a sense of adventure among Indian youth. It also aimed to raise awareness about Ayodhya’s rich heritage and culture.

This unprecedented display of power hang glider skydiving near the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, followed by a parachute landing, marks a historic moment. It is the first-ever attempt of its kind in Ayodhya, showcasing the city’s potential as a hub for aerial sports and a source of inspiration for aviation enthusiasts and the local community alike.

Shital Mahajan extended gratitude to the Ayodhya District Magistrate, Nitesh Kumar, Sub-District Magistrate Sandeep Srivastava, officers from the Laxman Qila and Naya Ghat police stations, and various other officials for their support in making this event a reality.

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, DGCA, Airport Authority of India, Ayodhya Airport Director Vinod Kumar, ATS Incharge Ajay Girij, and Deputy General Manager Avadesh Kumar Singh from Ayodhya Airport were also appreciated for their support.

Shital Mahajan expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Member of Parliament Kirti Vardhan Singh for his unwavering support over the past four months in realizing this dream of skydiving in Ayodhya. She emphasized his instrumental role in fulfilling the aspiration to conduct a jump in Ayodhya, making it a reality.
