Hyderabad, 23rd Feb. Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLA Lasya Nandita lost her life in a horrific road accident in Hyderabad today. The 37-year-old, who was serving as an MLA for the first time, sustained severe injuries when her vehicle veered out of control and crashed into a road divider.
Following the accident, Lasya Nandita was immediately taken to the hospital where she later passed away. The driver involved in the collision was also seriously injured and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Just ten days prior to this incident, Lasya had survived another accident in Narkatpally where she had minor injuries. On February 13, while on her way to Nalgonda to attend a rally with the Chief Minister, an accident occurred in which her home guard lost his life.
Lasya Nandita, a well-known figure in politics, had previously served as a corporator in Kavadiguda since 2016.
She was born in Hyderabad in 1986 and entered politics about ten years ago. Starting as a corporator in the Kavadiguda ward, she was later elected as an MLA from Secunderabad Cantonment in the 2023 Telangana assembly elections.
Senior BRS leader KT Rama Rao expressed his condolences for Nandita’s sudden passing on X (formerly Twitter). The driver involved in the accident is currently in critical condition and receiving medical care.
Following her father G Sayanna’s passing last year, Lasya took on the responsibility of continuing his legacy. In the November 2023 elections, she won after being nominated as the party’s candidate.
