Actor Riteish Deshmukh Asks Brother Amit Deshmukh to Make Decision Amid Speculation of Joining BJP

Latur, 21st Feb. Actor Riteish Deshmukh conveyed to his brother and Congress MLA Amit Deshmukh that “the time has come for him to make a decision,” although the latter denied any intentions of leaving the Congress amidst swirling speculations suggesting a potential move to the BJP, akin to former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan.

During the inauguration ceremony of a statue honoring Vilasrao Deshmukh in Latur, Riteish addressed his brother, emphasizing the expectations from both the city of Latur and the state of Maharashtra. President of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee Nana Patole, former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat, and other dignitaries graced the occasion.

While Riteish did not explicitly outline the nature of the decision expected from his brother, ongoing speculations suggest a potential alignment with the BJP. However, Amit Deshmukh vehemently denied any plans of leaving the Congress, citing his unwavering loyalty to the party, reminiscent of his father’s dedication.

Reflecting on the legacy of Vilasrao Deshmukh, Amit emphasized the significance of loyalty and steadfast commitment to the party, addressing the speculation surrounding his political allegiance.

Despite the emotional resonance of the event, Riteish, while reminiscing about his father, expressed profound grief over the enduring void left by his passing. He also highlighted the enduring support between his father and uncle, Diliprao Deshmukh, underscoring their unwavering solidarity.
