Tourist Influx Surges in Lakshadweep, Overtaking Maldives and Bali

Tourists assert that Lakshadweep is a superior and more tranquil destination compared to Maldives and Bali, where one can easily indulge in moments of serenity and serenity.

In general, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Lakshadweep and his stay in Bangaram have led to a surge in tourist arrivals to this island with turquoise waters and multi-colour coral reefs. Not only Bangaram, but the nearby Thinnakara Island was also in the news after the Prime Minister’s visit and Lakshadweep following the diplomatic row between the two countries due to the derogatory comments made. The situation is favourable. It was suggested that the Maldives be boycotted as a tourist destination and that Lakshadweep be put forward as a suitable alternative.

Saifullah, who runs a small restaurant on Tinnakara Island, explained that by cooking and concentrating 30 liters of coconut juice, we can obtain only 2.5 kg of jaggery. Its price is 1,000 rupees per kg. It is so popular that if someone wants to order this special jaggery, they must book an order in advance. The islanders hold the belief that this jaggery is suitable for consumption by diabetic patients, and can be utilized in the preparation of sweets or tea.

Jaggery is a unique product of Lakshadweep

The islanders advised that this jaggery does not spoil for a long time and should not be kept in the refrigerator. Saifullah stated, “This is a unique product of Lakshadweep.” During cooking, we use coral stones collected from the sea to remove the sourness. There are approximately 15 people in Tinnakara who work exclusively on extracting coconut juice and making jaggery from it. Jaggery is formed by continuously boiling coconut juice for over four hours, and coral stones are used to remove its sourness.
