India Inks MoU with Colombia on Sharing India’s Open-Sourced DPIs

India and Colombia cemented their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in the field of Sharing Successful Digital Solutions Implemented at Population Scale for Digital Transformation.

The agreement was formalized between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of India and the Information Technologies and Communications of Colombia.

The exchange of the MoU took place between the Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Jal Shakti, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, and Mr. Mauricio Lizcano, Minister of Information Technologies and Communications of Colombia.

The signatories representing India were Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, and Mr. Mauricio Lizcano represented Colombia.

The MoU aims to foster digital transformation, particularly emphasizing the utilization of INDIA STACK, through various initiatives such as capacity-building programs, exchange of best practices, deployment of pilot solutions, and facilitating private sector collaborations to enhance the digital ecosystems of both nations.

The discussions also highlighted the significance of Digital Public Infrastructures (DPIs), which are secure and interoperable digital systems built on open standards to ensure equitable access to public and private services.

India Stack Solutions, representing DPIs, have been developed and implemented on a large scale in India to facilitate the delivery of public services.

India expressed its eagerness to collaborate with Colombia, leveraging its expertise in digital transformation to support the adoption of Digital Public Infrastructure in the South American nation.

This partnership signifies a step towards enhancing digital inclusivity and fostering innovation to drive economic growth and development.
