250 specially abled children from Jammu and Kashmir embarked on a memorable journey to Delhi and Agra as part of the ‘Watan Ko Jano’ Programme in an initiative aimed at fostering inclusivity and cultural exchange.

Organized by the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the initiative seeks to provide a unique learning experience to the youth of the region.

The ‘Watan Ko Jano’ Programme, conducted under the auspices of MHA and the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, aims to acquaint the youth and children of Jammu and Kashmir with the rich social and cultural tapestry of India.

Led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and under the guidance of the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah, MHA remains steadfast in its commitment to such developmental initiatives for the youth and children of Jammu & Kashmir.

Comprising 62 girls and 188 boys between the ages of 6 and 18, the group of specially abled children were treated to a captivating tour of Agra and Delhi.

During their visit, the children had the opportunity to interact with Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla and other senior officials in New Delhi, enriching their educational experience.

The ‘Watan Ko Jano’ initiative extends its outreach to children from terrorism-affected families and/or economically disadvantaged sections of society in Jammu and Kashmir, identified by the Jammu and Kashmir Rehabilitation Council.

Through exposure trips such as these, the program endeavors to broaden the horizons of the youth and promote understanding and empathy across diverse communities.
