In a recent address during the unveiling of a statue of Maharaja Surajmal on his birth anniversary at Maharaja Surajmal Brij University campus in Bharatpur, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma slammed the former Congress government for allegedly obstructing the Rajasthan Eastern Canal Project (ERCP).

He credited the BJP-led “double-engine” government for pushing the project towards completion.

Chief Minister Sharma asserted that the integrated ERCP project, slated for completion within five years, will significantly augment water availability for drinking and irrigation in Eastern Rajasthan.

He emphasized the collaborative efforts of the Central and state governments in removing obstacles hindering the project’s progress, contrasting it with the perceived inaction of the previous administration.

Furthermore, addressing concerns over paper leak incidents in the state, Sharma highlighted the government’s proactive stance. He disclosed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incidents, leading to the arrest of 25 individuals thus far.

Sharma underscored his government’s commitment to enhancing law and order, citing the establishment of a task force aimed at eradicating gang-related violence and crime syndicates from the state.

These measures, he affirmed, are integral to ensuring a safer and more secure environment for Rajasthan’s residents.
