Raksha Rajya Mantri Ajay Bhatt Concludes Successful Visit to Saudi Arabia

 Raksha Rajya Mantri Ajay Bhatt has concluded his productive visit to Saudi Arabia following his participation in the World Defence Show 2024 in Riyadh. The visit, which concluded on February 08, 2024, saw significant strides in bilateral defence cooperation and cultural exchange.

During his engagements, Ajay Bhatt met with key officials including Dr Faleh bin-Abdullah Al-Sulaiman, Governor of the General Authority for Defence Development (GADD), and Dr Munir M Eldesouki, President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST).

Discussions centered on enhancing defence ties and exploring avenues for further collaboration between India and Saudi Arabia. Ajay Bhatt extended an invitation to GADD Governor for a reciprocal visit to India.

The visit also included a tour of KACST premises, underscoring the importance of scientific and technological cooperation in defence endeavors. Shri Ajay Bhatt’s visit to the Saudi Arabian Military Industry – Advanced Electronics Company (SAMI-AEC) headquarters further bolstered discussions on future collaboration in defence sectors.

In a gesture of cultural diplomacy, a community event was held at the Embassy of India in Riyadh, where Ajay Bhatt emphasized India’s commitment to holistic development and gender equality. The event also showcased India’s rich heritage through a cultural program organized by Indian schools in Riyadh.

Highlighting the role of women in defence, Indian women officers Squadron Leader Bhawana Kanth, Colonel Ponung Doming, and Lieutenant Commander Annu Prakash interacted with over 700 Indian students, sparking enthusiasm about opportunities for women in the Indian Armed Forces.

The visit of the Indian delegation, led by the Raksha Rajya Mantri, has not only reinforced bilateral ties but also paved the way for deeper cooperation, echoing shared commitments to a safer and prosperous future.
