New Delhi, 9th Feb. India’s coal production has reached 803.79 MT for the fiscal year 2023-24 as of February 6th, 2024, marking a substantial increase from the 717.23 MT recorded during the same period of the previous fiscal year, showcasing a notable growth rate of 12.07%.
This achievement underscores the nation’s commitment to achieving energy security and self-sufficiency under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
The Ministry of Coal’s concerted efforts have been instrumental in driving this remarkable stride, signaling a pivotal moment in India’s journey towards sustainable development. The bolstered coal logistic infrastructure has played a crucial role in facilitating transportation and dispatch across the country.
Coal dispatch has also witnessed a significant uptick, reaching 815.11 MT as of the same date, compared to 736.00 MT reported during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, representing a growth rate of 10.75%. This accelerated pace of coal production and dispatch underscores India’s commitment to meeting energy demands while fostering economic growth.
