New Delhi, 6th Feb. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday conveyed the grievous news of the passing of His Excellency Dr. Hage G Geingob, the President of the Republic of Namibia.
In his poignant message, the Chairman paid tribute to President Geingob’s illustrious life, describing him as a freedom fighter, statesman, and a pivotal figure in Namibia’s history. Notably, President Geingob played a significant role as the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly that drafted Namibia’s Constitution, served as its first Prime Minister after independence, and subsequently, as the third President of the nation.
The Chairman acknowledged President Geingob’s unwavering commitment to his people and the progress of his nation, reflecting on his profound impact on the bilateral relations between Namibia and India.
The Chairman also expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Rajya Sabha, extending sympathies to the Government and People of Namibia, as well as to President Geingob’s family, friends, and admirers.
