New Delhi, 3rd Feb. Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, has clarified that her decision to not align with India was not due to the Congress party’s lack of determination. Instead, it was because of past grievances that caused her to lose trust and control. She has suffered greatly at the hands of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and cannot forgive them. However, Mamata has not completely ruled out the possibility of an alliance with INDIA if the Congress party takes certain actions. Currently, her party, the Trinamool Congress, is preparing for the Lok Sabha elections, with Mamata Banerjee herself leading the efforts. The party has decided to contest all 42 seats in the state independently.

It is noteworthy that Mamata had recently distanced herself from the Congress Party led India alliance. The party said that this alliance has broken due to the stubborn stand adopted by the Congress regarding seat distribution. But after speaking with the public, the Chief Minister provided a significant explanation for the alliance’s dissolution. According to her statements, if the Congress party agrees to his demands, the prospect of an alliance cannot yet be ruled out.
In actuality, West Bengal’s political landscape is somewhat nuanced. In this case, there are primarily four parties involved. Of these, the Left Party, Congress Party, and Trinamool Congress are inherently opposed to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Despite everything, she will not support the BJP in the current political landscape. However, this does not imply that the three opposition parties are united just because they oppose the BJP. After a protracted battle against the state’s Left government, Trinamool emerged victorious. In this dispute, Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister, suffered the greatest personal losses. She had been the only fighter in this battle the entire time. She put an end to the Left parties’ nearly three decades of dominance.
After visiting Malda district, Mamta Banerjee declared that she would never be able to forgive CPM. It was CPM who had attacked her. She suffered a great deal of torture. She will always remember this torment and harassment.
CM Mamta expressed her inability to support individuals associated with the Left parties in such a circumstance. Mamta did add, though, that I had instructed Congress to run for its two seats in elections and that I would make no comment. Yet in order to form an alliance, they will need to sever ties with the Left parties.
Regarding the prospect of forming an alliance with Congress, she stated that must first quit from CPM. The first thing Congress needs to do is learn to respect its allies. Her memory of the horrors carried out by CPM will never fade. It is notable that Mamata Banerjee faced multiple attacks for her activism against the Left government in the past many years. The police detained her and tortured her.
