Chairman of High Level Committee on One Nation One Election Consults with Political Parties

New Delhi, 1st Feb. The Chairman of the High Level Committee (HLC) on One Nation One Election, Ram Nath Kovind, former President of India, held meetings with Praful Patel and Sunil Dattatray Tatkare of the Nationalist Congress Party, Maharashtra Pradesh.

These meetings were part of his consultations with political parties to gather their opinions on the subject.

Kovind also consulted with Upendra Kushwah, National President of the Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal, along with two other members of the party, to hear their views and suggestions on holding simultaneous elections in the country.

The parties’ representatives also submitted their suggestions in writing.

Previously, on January 30, Kovind met with Justice Pradeep Nandrajog, former Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, to seek his views on the matter.
