Lokayukta Police Conduct Raids on 10 Karnataka Officials in Disproportionate Assets Case

Lokayukta investigators in Karnataka on Wednesday conducted raids at 40 locations targeting 10 government officials involved in a case of disproportionate assets.

The raids took place in various districts, excluding Bengaluru, according to Dr A Subramanyeswara Rao, the Inspector General of Police for Lokayukta.

The senior police officer stated that the raids are ongoing against officials in Chamarajanagar, Mysuru, Hassan, Mandya, Tumakuru, Koppal, and Mangaluru.

In Mandya, the raids were carried out on a BESCOM executive engineer who owns a house in Vidyaranyapura, Bengaluru, and a farmhouse in Nagamangala.

Lokayukta investigators also raided the house of the executive engineer’s father-in-law, a prominent leader in the ruling Congress party in Nagamangala.

In Hassan, the Lokayukta officials conducted raids at the residence and office of a food inspector.

They also searched the house of the food inspector’s brother, who works as a realtor.

Sources revealed that an executive engineer at the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited is also under investigation by the Lokayukta.
