New Delhi, 30th Jan. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra slammed the government for its failure to address the issue of unemployment and inflation in India. She dismissed the talk of a five trillion dollar economy and Modi’s guarantee as mere empty rhetoric. To support her point, she shared a video on X showing people lining up for a recruitment drive to work in Israel.
In a post on X in Hindi, Gandhi stated that in any war situation, the government’s priority should be to rescue its citizens and bring them back home. However, she pointed out that the current unemployment crisis has forced many youth to risk their lives by seeking employment in war-torn Israel. This, according to her, exposes the hollowness of promises like a five trillion dollar economy, two crore jobs annually, and Modi’s guarantee made during elections.
Gandhi questioned why the youth of the country are not able to find employment within their own country. She expressed concern over the government’s willingness to send these young people into dangerous situations, highlighting the government’s failure to protect its own citizens.
Gandhi accused the government of cleverly shifting the blame onto the youth, making it a personal issue rather than addressing the systemic problem. She demanded answers from the government regarding its decision to allow Indian youth to be sacrificed in war-torn Israel and questioned who would take responsibility for their safety.
Gandhi claimed that the real issues in India today are unemployment and inflation, and the BJP government has no solutions to offer. She stated that the youth of the country are becoming increasingly aware of this.
The Congress party had previously criticized the government over reports of people queuing up for jobs in Israel, citing it as evidence of the dire unemployment situation in the country and a contradiction to the government’s claims of a thriving economy.
